Schools Division Superintendent
To our resilient graduates, dedicated completers, and the pride of Dapitan City – congratulations!
This end-of-school-year rites is the beginning of everything you are about to become. Our theme this year, "Filipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character" (Pilipinong Nagsipagtapos: Handang Mamuno nang May Kakayahan at Mabuting Pagkatao), is a reminder that your journey has been guided by a higher purpose. At this significant crossroads, acknowledge the grace of God Almighty and your family and loved ones, whose wisdom and strength have carried you through every challenge to reach this victorious milestone.
More than a century ago, our National Hero, Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal, arrived in Dapitan as an exile. Many would have given up, but Rizal chose to build. He started a school, engineered a water system, and treated the sick right here in our home.
Rizal showed us that competence – your skills and your "hustle" – is a powerful tool. But it was his character – his grit and his genuine love for his neighbors – that truly changed Dapitan. He proved that you don’t need a fancy title to be a leader; you just need to be the best version of yourself exactly where you are.
As you move forward into a world of fast-paced technology, remember these two things: Competence is your ability to get the job done. It’s the result of your hard work and the lessons your teachers poured into you. Character is who you are when no one is watching. It’s your kindness and your honesty. Skill might get you through the door, but it’s your heart that will keep you there.
Dapitan has nurtured you, and the spirit of Rizal lives within you. Whether you are moving to the next key stage, starting college, beginning a career, or venturing into entrepreneurship to build something of your own, carry the name of our "Shrine City" with pride. You are the next generation of Filipino leaders --capable, ethical, and unstoppable.
Trust in the talents God has given you and the path He has set before you. The world is huge, but you are ready for it. Show them what a "Shriner" is made of.
Padayon, Class of 2025–2026!
Mabuhay, and God bless you all!
Congratulations, graduates of Dapitan City Schools!
